Finished Writing Your Book?

Does the idea of sending it out to literary agents or getting it ready for e-book publishing fill you with excitement and a little fear?

We get that. You have spent a lot of time on this book and it means a huge amount to you.

Now you need to give it the best chance possible.

There are a few things you want to make sure of before you send your manuscript out, and that includes making sure your book really is ready to hit the literary agent scene or that you don't subject yourself to crushing reviews on Amazon. You also want to build up your confidence so that your manuscript doesn't end up banished to your bottom drawer.

That's something we're here to help you with.

Our professional editors are experienced creative writing tutors, literary agents, published authors or other publishing industry professionals, and have a wealth of experience when it comes to picking up on potential problems and strengths with your manuscript.

How Our Manuscript Appraisal Reports Will Benefit Your Writing:

Our reports give you clear insights and action steps as to any potential issues and what needs to be done to transform your manuscript into the book it should be.

You will end up with a clear plan of what to work on, honest feedback about whether your project has potential, and expert knowledge on how to make the changes you need to make to transform your writing.

Our appraisals consist of an in-depth report accompanied by an annotated copy of your manuscript where the editor makes comments referring to specific examples from the report.

That means you know what changes to make, where to make them and most importantly, how to make them.

The manuscript appraisal report covers:

  • The strength and impact of your opening chapters, the subsequent plot development and the conclusion
  • Key dramatic incidents including pace and dramatic climax
  • Action, tension and credibility and the forward momentum of the plot
  • Atmosphere and scene setting
  • Writing style including fluency, strength and tone of voice
  • Progression of narrative and narrative viewpoints
  • Grammar and punctuation*
  • Handling of exposition and character backstory
  • Characterisation and dialogue
  • Conclusion, marketability and clear next steps

*Please note that grammar and punctuation won't be corrected with this service, however, if there are mistakes that are consistently being made, the editor may mark-up the first few pages to show you how to correct these errors.

"I’ve been using this service for about five years now. They have always arranged for me to work with the same editor in order to sustain the levels of continuity and understanding I required. I can’t express enough how much this process has helped me grow and develop as a writer. You could spend thousands on academic courses and not learn half as much about writing and the English language as you would working with the professional editors provided here. Worth every penny!"
